Gold continues to be the in-thing for Diwali in India and there was a mention in DC yesterday that India consumes 800 Tonnes of Gold annually [ compared to the 600 tonnes that supports the Gold ETF GLD ] with majority of the purchases happening during marriage and diwali seasons. AP stands in 3rd position with 100 tonnes sold in the state and the pack is led by Tamilnadu and Kerala.
